How to store dried flowers between seasons

How to store dried flowers between seasons

If you rotate decor seasonally, practical question: where to put the off-season bouquet so it survives till next year?

Principle: store like books

Imagine it's an expensive book. You wouldn't throw it on a basement floor. Same rules.

Where

Good: dry closet, high shelf, hallway storage.
Bad: basement (humidity), garage (temperature swings), balcony (sun + frost), under the bed (dust + crushing risk).

How to pack

Rigid cardboard box, paper packing inside, lid closed. Label with contents and date.

Moth protection

Main storage enemy is moths. Add lavender sachets or cedar balls.

Conditions

18–22°C, 40–50% humidity — normal room conditions, stable. Not near radiators.

Storage life

2–3 years in the closet + 2–3 years of active use = theoretically 5+ years with a few "vacations" in storage.
