6 steps
- Pick a mood: soft / geometric / natural / minimal.
- Choose 3–5 plants in three roles: base (tall), volume (medium), accent (color).
- Fill the vase with dry foam or sand.
- Trim stems to 1.5–2× vase height. Diagonal cut.
- Layer: base first (3–5 stems in a triangle), then volume, then odd-number accents (3, 5, 7) placed asymmetrically.
- Check from 3 angles, including top. No holes.
Beginner mistakes
Too many species (5+), perfect symmetry, stems too short, all stems at the same height.
