In 2023 we started counting — and found that 40% of our turnover comes from hotels, spas and wellness studios. It's a big segment that's rarely discussed, yet it's the one driving the dried-flower trend in Eastern Europe.
Why it's profitable for hotels
1. One purchase — two years
Fresh flowers are a weekly expense line. For a 20-room boutique it's 10–15k UAH a month just for reception, restaurant and corridors. Dried flowers are a one-time purchase lasting 18–24 months.
2. No allergies
Dried plants release no pollen. Important for hotels with international guests — especially spa areas where people breathe deeply.
3. They survive being moved
Housekeeping moves a vase — fresh flowers spill water. Dry ones stay put. Trivial, but saves hours per year.
What works in hotels
- Large olive and eucalyptus branches — in lobbies and reception. Grand, calm, Tuscany.
- Mini-bouquets in rooms — lavender, gypsophila, statice. Cozy without being loud.
- Candle-and-flower compositions — for spa and restaurants. Dry decor + flame = right mood.
Budget for a mid-size hotel
20-room boutique with lobby, restaurant and spa — roughly 25–40k UAH for full decor lasting 2 years. Less than 2–3 months of fresh flowers.
