Bacche della foresta ucraina — per cosa e come raccogliere

Otto bacche selvatiche — lampone, mora, sorbo, prugnolo, mirtillo rosso, olivello spinoso, viburno, crespino.

Leggi con attenzione i segni ⚠.

Wild raspberry
Dove cresce
Clearings and edges of coniferous forests in Polisia, Carpathians, Volyn

Stagione di raccolta
Berries — full ripeness. Leaves — before flowering.

Per

Sweating effect for colds, fever reduction, cough relief

Contro

Respiratory infections, flu, bronchitis, tonsillitis, early laryngitis

Come usare

Tea from dried berries — classic Ukrainian «quick aid» for fever. Brew with boiling water, drink hot under a blanket — fever breaks in 2 hours. Raspberry jam — concentrated source of salicylic acid (natural aspirin).

Attenzione

Contains salicylates — caution with aspirin allergy. Gout and chronic kidney disease — only with a doctor.

Rowan

Sorbus aucuparia · Rosaceae
Rowan
Dove cresce
Forest edges, parks, city avenues, roadsides across Ukraine
Parte usata
Berries (September-October)
Stagione di raccolta
Harvested after first frost — bitterness recedes

Per

Choleretic effect, diuretic, natural source of vitamins A and C in winter

Contro

Stagnant gallbladder, mild cholecystitis, edema, atherosclerosis, vitamin deficiency

Come usare

Red rowan preserves — classic Ukrainian preserve with sugar 1:1. Dried berries — in winter tea mix. Honey infusion — a spoonful before breakfast for bile stagnation. Red rowan — NOT chokeberry (chokeberry has a different profile).

⚠ Pericolo

⚠ Raw red rowan berries contain parasorbic acid — causes nausea in quantity. Freezing or cooking destroys it. So — only after first frost, or cooked.

Come usare

Crushed viburnum with sugar (no cooking, 1:1) — a tablespoon morning and evening for hypertension. Berry tea — for colds. Gargle with decoction — for tonsillitis. One of the deepest Ukrainian folk plants.

Attenzione

Very low blood pressure and pregnancy — avoid. Diabetes — account for sugar in preserves.

Attenzione

The pits contain hydrocyanic acid — do NOT crush or eat them. Alcohol infusion — only from ripe berries, pits removed.

08 / 8

Barberry

Berberis vulgaris · Berberidaceae
Dove cresce
Forest edges, hedgerows, old Ukrainian gardens
Parte usata
Berries (October), roots (autumn — only with a doctor)
Stagione di raccolta
Berries — when fully red. Roots — carefully, with a phytotherapist's approval.

Per

Choleretic effect, blood-pressure reduction, antibacterial (berberine)

Contro

Bile stagnation, chronic cholecystitis, early hypertension, intestinal infections

Come usare

Dried berries in pilaf — traditional Caucasian and Ukrainian cooking, a natural seasoning with therapeutic effect. Barberry kissel — for early cholecystitis. Bark tincture from pharmacy — only with a doctor.

⚠ Pericolo

⚠ Unripe berries are toxic — don't eat green ones. Berberine in bark at high doses causes bleeding. Pregnancy — STRICTLY FORBIDDEN in all forms. Don't combine with blood thinners.

Raccogli lontano da autostrade e fabbriche. Non schiacciare i noccioli delle bacche delle Rosaceae (prugnolo, ciliegio a grappoli) — contengono acido cianidrico. Congelamento e cottura spesso eliminano la tossicità.
