Dried flowers in a Scandinavian interior: minimalism that speaks

Dried flowers in a Scandinavian interior: minimalism that speaks

Scandinavian interiors are about light, emptiness, warm wood, natural materials. At first glance there's no room for decor — this is design about what's not there. But that's the magic of dried flowers: they add natural texture without pulling focus.

Why dried, not fresh

Scandi style is about slow living. Fresh flowers need attention — water, trimming, replacement. Dried ones just stand there and set the mood.

6 spots that work

  1. Large vase on the floor next to the sofa — pampas, 80–120cm
  2. Low horizontal composition on the dining table
  3. Small bouquet on a non-sunny windowsill
  4. Surprise: a small lavender bunch in the bathroom (away from shower steam)
  5. Hallway console with a mirror and a dried bunch
  6. Bedroom nightstand — mini lavender or feather grass

Containers to choose

Natural-colored ceramics, clear glass, wooden stands, brushed metal. Avoid painted ornamental vases, carving, golden "palace" containers.

Common mistakes

Too much. Scandi style is "less is more." One sheaf per room, max two.

Bright colors. Lavender is fine; red roses break the palette.
